2017 Summer School

Summer School 2017 is scheduled for June 5-29, 2017.

The program for grades K-8 integrates science, technology, engineering, arts, and math topics into courses in a project-based format.
  • Kindergarten-8th grade Summer School will be four days per week (Monday-Thursday).
  • K-8 students may choose to attend one 2-week session, or two sessions for 4 weeks. 
  • Dates of attendance for students in grades 9-12 will vary based on the course offering, but most classes will meet Monday-Friday.
  • For students in grades K-5, fee-based Panther Pride child care will be offered (before and after school care and/or Friday, as needed).
  • Transportation will be available to students in grades K-8.
Students entering grades K-5 will attend summer school from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Students entering grades 6-8 will attend summer school from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday at Ray-Pec East Middle School.

High School Summer School


As for the younger grades, Summer School for students entering grades 9-12 is scheduled from June 5 to June 29. However, there are some programming differences:
  • The majority of high school courses for credit will be five days per week. (Monday-Friday)
  • High school enrichment courses will be four days per week. (Monday-Thursday)
  • Transportation will not be provided for grades 9-12.
  • Summer School for grades 9-12 will take place at Ray-Pec Academy building (directly west of Shull Elementary).
  • There are options for students to take one or two courses for credit Monday through Friday.
  • A student may enroll in an enrichment course during the morning Monday through Thursday.
Students in grades 9-12 may attend 19 days of Summer School to earn one-half credit in a core class for credit recovery. Students may also enroll to earn one-half credit in health, physical education, or personal finance. Some elective credits are planned.
