Here is an opportunity for high school students. Help a senior citizen learn basic computer functions. The program usually meets once a week. At the completion of the class, each participating student receives a tablet.

The goal of the Cyber-Seniors Program is to enable a senior citizen (participant) to be able to use a computer independently, or with minimal assistance, to carry out functions such as email, Google searches, Skype, Facebook, and any other applications which are of interest to them.

On average, most participants will require at least 16 hours of training. The schedule will conclude at least one-hour session a week over a period of 8 weeks.

Interested? Meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at Hawthorn Estates, 1900 Jenkins Dr., Harrisonville, MO 64701. Contact Cathy Adams at 816-322-0502 or, or Sandy Koetting at 816-322-0502 or

Student perks: free food at each week's class and receive a free tablet (valued at $400) at the end of the course. (Limited class size availability)
