Kim Bailey has been appointed to the Missouri State Board of Education by Governor Mike Parson.
Bailey, who has been serving as School Board President, was elected to the Board in 2016. She served as Board Vice President for one year, and has served as Board President since April 2017. Her term was to expire in April 2019.
She notified Superintendent Dr. Kari Monsees, Board Secretary Pam Steele, and fellow Board Members in an email letter. "I have absolutely loved serving with all of you," she wrote. "You are an amazing team."
Dr. Monsees praised Bailey's service to the District and her contributions on the Board. "Kim has been a tremendous member of our Board of Education," he said. "We will miss her leadership in Ray-Pec, but look forward to her guidance on a statewide level."
The Board will discuss filling the vacancy at an upcoming meeting.
