On Oct. 3, Raymore-Peculiar High School honored students with academic honors earned during the 2017-2018 school year.
Students were recognized for achievements such as earning an Academic Letter, receiving the Lamp of Learning award, placing in the top 10 percent of their class, Advanced Placement Scholarship, and International Baccalaureate Scholarship.
The Academic Letter was presented to students earning a Grade Point Average of at least a 3.95 averaging both semesters of the 2017-2018 school year. The Lamp of Learning was presented to students who maintained a minimum 3.7 GPA in both semesters of 2017-2018.
The Advanced Placement Scholars program honors students who score well on multiple AP exams. A student receives the AP Scholar award for scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams. Students received the AP Scholars with Honors award for an average of 3.25 on all AP Exams and scores of 3 or higher on four or more exams. Two students received the AP Scholars with Distinction award for receiving an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams.
The IB program recognized IB Diploma candidates that completed year 1 of the 2-year program. IB Certificate Scholars were recognized for earning a qualifying score in individual courses.
