Grand champions! Ray-Pec’s Tech Challenge team earned the title of Grand Champion at the Missouri State Thespian Festival with 1st place for Riley Linn on lighting, 2nd place for Becca Bessette on threading a sewing machine, 3rd place for Zach Scott and Devyn Phillips on props setup, and 3rd place for Nick Hime, Riley, Becca, and Zach in drop folding.
Despite weather issues, Ray-Pec High School theatre students had a great time at the festival, which took place Jan. 10-12 at the Kansas City Marriott with more than 1,900 students from across Missouri in attendance.
The improv team of Ian Van Horn, Ella Schnake, Spencer Harris, Spencer Barr and Ashley Sclesky earned a superior rating in the Improv Intensives.
Two students auditioned and were cast in the All-State show of “A Streetcar Named Desire” to be performed at next year's festival. Alec Heriford will be Stanley and Ella Schnake will be Eunice. Students participated in workshops, watched one-acts, plays, and musicals, and made it back to Ray-Pec safely.
