Last week, the Ray-Pec Public School Foundation awarded two grants to purchase Lego WeDo sets. Dr. Amanda Kilgore, Digital Learning Teacher at Eagle Glen Elementary, received a $750 grant and Tracy LeRosen, 4th grade teacher at Stonegate Elementary, received a $595 grant.
Lego WeDo sets are robotics kits designed for younger students. They combine the Lego bricks with software that allow students to build and program their creations.
When Foundation Board members arrived at Eagle Glen to award the grant, they were able to see students in Dawn Fellhauer's second grade class using Lego WeDo sets that were purchased last year.
Dr. Kilgore applied for the grant this year to purchase additional sets.
