Dear Ray-Pec families,
Consistent with today’s order issued by Gov. Mike Parson, we are extending our school closure through the end of the school year.
While we had hoped that our school closure would be temporary, the extreme circumstances of the COVID-19 epidemic are requiring unprecedented action to keep our community safe. While we regret having to make this decision, we are also confident it is the right thing to do. We know that this is a challenging time for families, and we are proud of everything you are doing to support your children at home.
The District will continue to provide distance learning opportunities for students through May 22. More information: Distance Learning page.
We will continue to provide to-go breakfast and lunch at no charge for Ray-Pec residents ages 18 and younger. Meal service during school closure
Caring About Nutrition will continue to offer weekend meal assistance.
While schools are closed, all school athletics, activities, and scheduled events using Ray-Pec facilities are canceled. Details will be shared as they become available about the cancellation or rescheduling of other activities, including Graduation.
Summer School planning is underway, but will be impacted by any state or local stay-at-home orders. We will keep you posted as we determine how we might offer Summer School classes.
Ray-Pec Cares, an outreach of the Ray-Pec Public School Foundation, has introduced a new program called “Neighbors Helping Neighbors.” The program aims to match helpers with people who need assistance.
Ray-Pec Cares has also developed a community resource list that may be helpful to families during the stay-at-home order related to the coronavirus pandemic.
Thank you for your patience and flexibility during this time.
