Kirk Hipple will be the new Activities Director for the Ray-Pec School District, effective July 1. The School Board approved the hiring at its Jan. 23 meeting.
Hipple is currently the Activities Director in the Grandview School District. This is his first year in that position. As a resident of the Ray-Pec School District, Hipple was drawn to the A.D. job opening.
“I’m beyond excited about serving the community that I live in and where my kids go to school,” he said.
Hipple earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and physical education at Baker University, Baldwin, Ks. He received a master’s degree in secondary administration from Central Missouri State University and an education specialist degree in secondary administration from the University of Central Missouri.
He started his education career in the Grain Valley School District. From 1997 to 2000, he was a math teacher and coach at Grain Valley Middle School, and from 2000 to 2003, he was a math teacher and coach at Grain Valley High School. For the 2003-2004 school year, he was a math teacher and volleyball coach at Pleasant Lea Middle School in Lee’s Summit, and the following year moved to Lee’s Summit West High School, where he taught math and coached girls basketball for two years. From 2006 to 2019 he was the assistant principal/athletic and activities director at Summit Lakes Middle School in Lee’s Summit.
Hipple has two children who attend Ray-Pec schools, Kierra, a junior, and Trey, a freshman. When not attending his children’s sporting events, he enjoys golfing.
He will replace Tom Kruse, who is retiring at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.
