At the June 24, 2021, School Board meeting, Activities Director Kirk Hipple gave a report on the Athletic/Activities Program in the district. Here are a few of the facts that he shared:
- 1,190 students were involved in one or more MSHSAA sponsored activities during the 2020-21 school year.
- Students who participate in MSHSAA activities have higher grade point averages than students who do not participate.
- Seven teams/activities qualified for the MSHSAA Outstanding Academic Achievement Award (team GPA of 3.5 to 4.0).
- Student clubs raised over $17,000 for scholarships, H8 Cancer, and Special Olympics.
- State champions: Football, Scholar Bowl, and Original Oratory.
- All-State athletes in eight different sports.
- School record number of gold ratings in choir.
- Speech and debate: five district champions, one state champion, and one event placing 12th in the nation.
- Girls golf competed as a team at state for the first time.
- Services provided by Ray-Pec athletic trainers saved families nearly $45,000 in treatment value, if sought elsewhere.
