Congratulations to Amari Russell on being accepted into the Conservatory Bridges Program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City!
Amari is a 7th grader at Ray-Pec South Middle School.
The program provides exceptional young performing arts students with intensive, one-on-one instruction and performance experience to help prepare them for auditions into selective university programs.
The scholarship provides Amari with weekly voice lessons from a Conservatory Bridges faculty member who will coordinate with South Middle School Vocal Music Teacher Lezlie Waltz for further preparation of her vocal ability.
The scholarship also provides a $100 budget for music and materials, and provides a pianist for her required solo performances and rehearsals.
Amari may remain in the program until graduation from high school, as long as program requirements are met.
Amari is the second student from South Middle School to be accepted into the program. Chennedy Johnson, an eighth grader, is also a participant.
Since its founding in 2007, Musical Bridges has taught more than 200 students in Kansas City-area school districts.
What a terrific opportunity for a talented young student!
