The Raymore-Peculiar School Board on April 21 recognized members of the Ray-Pec Special Olympics basketball teams who won medals at the State tournament last month in St. Charles.
The Panther Pride team won 2nd place. Players were: Athletes Jag Davis and Aaron Mendoza and Unified Partners Aiden Churchwell and Zach Anderson. Unified Partners are players without disabilities who participate in the training and competition.
The Panthers team won 3rd place. Players were Athletes Dustin Haning, J'Qwan Blackmon, and Shawn Hunt, along with Unified Partners Ryan Hilliard and Grant Hornbeck.
The Panther Cubs team won 2nd place. Players were Athletes Trey Gethers, Carter Nussbeck, Owen Vaughan, and Kendalynn Torrance, and Unified Partners Kendyll Gethers and Aven Haning.
Coaches are Teachers Catie Howlett, Cara Hornbeck, and Emma Howlett, and Aaron Howlett.
