Second graders at Raymore Elementary School learned their unit of Economics in a unique way. By collaborating with the Ray-Pec High School Student Senate, they raised more than $335 to buy socks for Japanese disaster victims.
The second graders each designed, created and sold sets of cards with envelopes to family and friends. In this way, the students were able to grasp difficult concepts such as supply, demand and profit, while helping the Student Senate with a service project.
