The first day of school is Wednesday, Aug. 17, for students in grades K-12. Families of students entering grades K-6 are invited to Meet the Teacher night from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at each elementary and intermediate school.

Preview Day
Students entering 5th, 7th and 9th grades are invited to participate in Preview Day on Monday, Aug. 15. This morning is set aside for these students to become acquainted with their new schools without older students in the building. For fifth graders, Preview Day is scheduled from 8:40 to 11:15 a.m. For seventh grade, Preview Day is from 7:35 to 10 a.m. For ninth grade, Preview Day is from 7:25 to 10:30 a.m. Buses will run their normal routes (with some delays as routes are learned). Students will visit classrooms, try their lockers, and meet staff.

School Supplies
School supply lists for students entering grades K-8 are posted on the site for each individual school. From the web site home page, select "School Facilities" and then the appropriate school.

Immunizations
For information about immunization requirements, go to the "For Parents" section of this web site and select "Medical Forms."

Reminder: The state of Missouri requires students entering eighth grade in August 2011 to have a Tdap immunization and to give documentation to the middle school nurse before starting classes on Aug. 17. The Tdap vaccine may also be documented as Adacel or Boostrix. The Tdap vaccine helps protect adults and adolescents against three diseases: tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough. Tdap is recommended as a booster to the Dtap vaccine in people ages 11 to 64. You may bring or fax the documentation to Ray-Pec East Middle School after Aug. 1, 2011.
