Caleb Walker, a fourth grader at Peculiar Elementary School, recently attended Space Camp For Interested Visually Impaired Students (SCI-VIS), at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, NASA’s official Visitor Information Center for Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. The weeklong program promotes science, technology, engineering and math with hands-on activities and missions based on teamwork, leadership and decision-making. Caleb, son of Sandy and Tracy Walker, was awarded a scholarship to Space Camp based partially on an essay that he wrote explaining why he wanted to attend. He started his entrance process last April and was recommended by his Ray-Pec Vision Consultant, Sheryl Satterfield.
