Congratulations to the Ray-Pec Forensics and Debate squad for winning the Lee’s Summit West Tournament on Nov. 5. The squad received a first place trophy in Sweepstakes, as well as Individual Events. Here are individual results:
• Rodney McDuffie placed second in Lincoln Douglas debate.
• In Radio Speaking, Tyler Wornell was fourth, and Jesse Edington placed fifth.
• Alesha Hall placed third in Extemporaneous speaking.
• Andrea Ambam placed fifth in Oratory Speaking.
• Ray-Pec had an impressive showing in Storytelling. Lauren Ellsworth placed first, Logan Schoessel, second, Abby Beck, fourth, and Madilynn Mansur, sixth.
• Similarly, in Poetry: Nellie Maple placed first, Madilynn Mansur second, Hayley Farrell third, and Grace Pennington in fourth.
• Prose speaking: Grace Pennington was first, and Zhahn Gonzalez was fifth.
• The Duo team of Dane Schnake and Bobby Turnbough took fifth place.
• In Humorous Interpretation: Dane Schnake took first place, Drew Brown took fourth, while Nathaniel Weber came in sixth.
• Finally, In Dramatic Interpretation: Hayley Farrell took first place, Bobby Turnbough was third, and Austin Loar was fourth.
