Peculiar Elementary had its first Reading Rodeo on Nov. 17. Families had fun putting friends, family members, and teachers in the Peculiar Pokey for a session of enforced reading. One popular station was the Book Trail Bookwalk where participants took a chance on winning Book Fair gift certificates. Storyteller Jacque Qualls entertained the crowd with her down-home stories and fascinating information about life in the old West. Tired cowpokes could rest by the campfire and take time out to read with the teachers. Warming by the fire is Nicole Wilson and her father.
