The Ray-Pec High School north building was the best performing building for the past 12 months in the district’s Energy Program.
Energy Manager Van McLain tracks utility bills and energy use at each district facility. He compares the numbers to usage recorded during a baseline year.
He commended three schools for posting energy cost avoidance of more than 40 percent over the last 12 months. In addition to the north high school, which showed the highest percentage, Raymore Elementary and Peculiar Elementary schools also had savings of more than 40 percent.
McLain presented an award to the school’s custodians, who implement many components of the energy program.
McLain presented the award at the Dec. 23 luncheon for the Buildings and Grounds Department.
District-wide, the energy cost avoidance for the last 12 months was 37 percent.
