Congratulations to the cast and crew of Legally Blonde the Musical! On Thursday, a representative from the Blue Star program of Starlight Theatre announced that the Ray-Pec production was selected as one of the six musicals nominated for “Outstanding Overall Musical.” Forty-eight musicals from around the metro area participated in the program this year. Other schools with nominations for outstanding overall musical include: Shawnee Mission West, Shawnee Mission North, St. Teresa’s Academy, Park Hill South, and Blue Valley. Ray-Pec will perform a song from the show at the Blue Star Awards ceremony at Starlight Theatre. The ceremony is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24. Admission to the ceremony is free, but parking is $5.

Individual Blue Star nominees are: Nellie Maple for Outstanding Actress in a Lead Role; Haley Crane, Outstanding Actress in a Featured Role; Hayley Farrell, Rising Star Female; Bobby Turnbough, Outstanding Male Ensemble Member; and Sawyer Henkle, Outstanding Male Ensemble Member.
