Sixth graders Shane Bruflat and Logan Mangrum were honored for their performance in an online math league competition. The two boys were among 15 students at Bridle Ridge Intermediate School who participated in the 6th grade Math League Team with Teacher Lezlie Waltz.Three times during the school year, the students had the opportunity to compete to demonstrate mastery of sixth grade math materials. There were 1,230 sixth graders across the country who competed in all three matches. All Math League Team members received participation certificates, and Josh Figge received a certificate for most improved scores. Logan Mangrum placed second at Bridle Ridge and received a medal for scoring in the top 10 percent of all sixth graders in the competition. Shane Bruflat placed first at Bridle Ridge and scored in the top 5 percent in the competition.Participants in the Bridle Ridge 6th Grade Math League Team were: Shane Bruflat, Logan Mangrum, Noah Novak, Jacob Sibert, Austin Hacker, Adam Sesher, Brittany Walkingstick, Molly Johnson, Zack Kerfoot, Josh Figge, Brandon Carvan, Lawson Sumler, Hayden Smith, Hannah Hornbeck, and Wesley McCullough.
