The Raymore-Peculiar Public School Foundation announces the hiring of Jodie Huston as its part-time executive director. Huston is the first paid employee of the Foundation, which was formed in 1991.The Foundation is a separate entity from the school district. It is a 501(c)3 charitable organization with its own board of directors. Its mission is to support the Ray-Pec School District. The Foundation’s funds are used for scholarships, grants and other financial support for the students, staff and educational programs of the district.Huston’s duties will include working with the Foundation board in the areas of marketing, fundraising, public relations, investment and accounting.Huston has experience in these areas, as she has been the Director of Development for Harrisonville Christian School since 2002. In her position at HCS, she coordinates fundraising and manages three primary fundraisers. She also has experience in database management, email and bulk mailing, volunteer supervision and public relations events.“I am very excited about the opportunity to help the Ray-Pec Public School Foundation give back to the school district and community,” Huston said. “I look forward to working with the Ray-Pec families, staff, and community.”Foundation President Jim Miller said the board was impressed with Huston.“We are confident Ms. Huston’s energy and expertise will be of great benefit to the foundation’s efforts to provide much needed financial resources for the Raymore-Peculiar School District.”In addition to Miller, the Foundation Board of Directors includes: Reeve Marksbury, vice president; Pam Steele, secretary/treasurer; Larry Dobson, Ernie Jungmeyer, Becky Klein, Peter Kerckhoff, Phil Parke, and Kim York. Ray-Pec Superintendent Dr. Jeff Kyle serves as an ex-officio member of the board.Huston lives outside of Harrisonville with her husband, Bob, and 2 children, Kailey and Abbey.
