The Ray-Pec vs. Lee's Summit West baseball games on May 4 at Lee's Summit West will include a silent auction, raffle prizes, children's activities and more to raise money for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. Flyer

The teams plan to line the walkway into Lee’s Summit West stadium with banners supporting loved ones. You may purchase a banner by making a minimum $50 donation to Alex's Lemonade Stand. If you purchased a banner last year,
your banner can be displayed this year for a donation of $25.

The 2x3 white vinyl banners will have black lettering and a lavender cancer ribbon. Lavender represents the color for all cancers. You will be asked to provide information for the banner:
  • Choose from “In Memory Of” or “In Honor Of”
  • Name of the individual being honored
  • Family name(s) that are purchasing the banner for a loved one

No modifications will be made to the banner outside of the names. The banners will be yours to take home after the event.
To purchase a banner, make an online donation (https://www.alexslemonade.org/mypage/1216146) or write a check payable to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. You will get a tax receipt with either option. The last day to order a banner is April 19.

Contact Betsy Thompson at  or 816-694-8165 to order your banner and make payment (if not on line).

Sports physicals
Students (grades 7-12) planning to participate in athletics for the 2015-16 spring semester or the 2016-2017 school year must have a physical on file dated on or after Feb. 1, 2016. Physical form

The High School sponsors a physical night, with licensed physicians, allowing students to obtain a physical valid for the following school year. The annual physical night is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 24, 2016. The cost is $15.

Athletic By-Law 309 (a) in the MSHSAA handbook states: “The school shall require of each student participating in athletic or an activity performance Group; MSHSAA sponsored sports, marching band, cheerleading, dance team, and color guard / flags, a physician’s certificate stating that he or she is physically able to participate in athletic contests or performance groups. A student shall not be permitted to practice or compete until a complete certificate is on file. The certificate/physical is valid for the purpose of this rule IF issued on or after February 1 of the previous school year.”

The School District provides a physical exam form to be completed by each athlete as well as your physician. You may obtain a form at the front office of your child’s school or on-line at www.raypec.k12.mo.us  This form MUST be on file before you will be allowed to practice or participate with any Raymore-Peculiar athletic team.

Athletic By-Law 309 (b) in the MSHSAA handbook states: “A student shall not be permitted to practice or compete for a school until it has verification that he or she has basic athletic insurance coverage.”

This information is included on the physical exam form and also MUST be on file before a student will be allowed to practice or participate with any Raymore-Peculiar athletic team, or band or color guard.

The District provides a supplemental insurance policy for each athlete. This is in addition to a student's private health insurance.

All student athletes and their parents are required to review the handbook and return the signature sheet to their Coach prior to the first contest of the season. The signature sheet indicates that the athlete and the parents have received, reviewed, and understand the policies set forth by the Athletic/Activities Department and the MSHSAA regarding concussions. Student Athletic Handbook
