SMS LEGO Robotics Team qualifies for regional championship

Congratulations to the South Middle School First LEGO League Robotics Team, also known as the Green Machine!

The team competed in its first qualifying tournament on Dec. 14 and qualified to advance to the Kansas City Regional Championship on Jan. 25. The team includes 7th graders Vince Fantasma, Hayden Hershey, Ezra Robertson, and Noah Schmidt, and 8th graders Arianna Cooper, Jeneva Craig, and Kimberly Marty. The Coaches are Teachers Vanessa Beere and Angela Stein.

SMS Wolves
Raymore-Peculiar South Middle School is one of two middle schools in the district.  The school building was constructed and opened in 2004 on the main Ray-Pec campus for all students in grades 7-8. It was then used as a second building for Ray-Pec High School through spring 2017.
