Parents as Teachers provides education for parents of children from birth to five years old. This voluntary, free program is designed to help parents give their children the best possible start in life.
The Parents as Teachers program offers free developmental screenings to all families in the School District with children ages 4 months to 5 years. The screening is designed to give parents a clear picture of their child's strengths, weaknesses, and emerging skills in the areas of language, social-emotional, intellectual, and motor development. Screening is a quick and effective way to look at your child in comparison with other children his/her age. Call 816-892-1220 to schedule a time for a screening.
Personal visits - Certified parent educators trained in child development assist parents in understanding what to look for in each stage of their child's development.
