A new record for the Ray-Pec High School choir! Eight students were selected for the All-State Choir. This is the highest honor a high school singer can receive in the state of Missouri.
Students were selected after auditions during the West Central All-District Honor Choir on Oct. 13 in Oak Grove.
At the District Choir event, juniors and seniors from more than 30 schools in the West Central District had the opportunity to audition for 24 available spots in the All-State Choir. This includes four singers and two alternates for each voice part and two alternates. In total, Ray-Pec High School singers represent one-third of the choir spots available for this District of the state. This is a new school record – the previous high was in 1998 when six Ray-Pec singers were selected for the All-State Choir.
Members of the All-State Choir will perform in January.
