Food Drive to benefit Caring About Nutrition

Food Drive overall

This week is a food drive to benefit the Caring About Nutrition (CAN) program. If you can help, please donate at any of the K-5 elementary schools or the middle schools. You can also drop donations at the Raymore Chamber of Commerce.

Themes for the rest of the week:

  • Take a Break Tuesday - donate snack items like granola bars, snack crackers, cups of applesauce or fruit cups
  • Wake Up Wednesday - donate breakfast items like individual boxes of cereal or oatmeal packets
  • You CAN Be our Valentine Thursday - donate “couple” items like mac and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, cheese and crackers
  • Fruit and Veggies Friday - donate canned vegetables (prefer corn and green beans) or cups of fruit or applesauce
  • Courtwarming - Drop off donations before the Courtwarming basketball games at Ray-Pec High School
  • Food Drive Finale - from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Raymore Price Chopper store

Caring About Nutrition serves K-5 students with bags of food on Fridays for weekend meals they might otherwise miss. CAN sends home food for two breakfasts, two lunches and two snacks. CAN also has a small food pantry at the middle schools and high school for students to access when needed.
