If your student needs a physical for participation in 2019-2020 activities, a physical night is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m.Thursday, July 25, at Ray-Pec High School. Please RSVP if you plan to attend. This will allow organizers to schedule the appropriate number of volunteers and health care professionals.
Students entering grades 9-12 who plan to participate in sports or activities must have a completed, current physical on file with the high school Activities Office before the Aug. 12 start date for fall sports.
A current physical includes 4 completed pages. Any student without a current physical on file prior to Aug. 12 will not be allowed to attend practice/try-out until bringing the completed physical form to the Activities Office. This includes students who plan to participate in sports, marching band, cheerleading, dance, and color guard. Physicals are now good for two years from the date of the exam.
Any student who has a physical on file at their current middle school or high school dated June 1, 2018, or later will not need another physical for the entire 2019-20 school year.
Physicals on file dated before June 1, 2018, are good for 730 days from the date and may expire before the end of the 2019-20 school year. A student will not be eligible to participate immediately on the day after its expiration (730 total days).
If your student’s current physical is dated before June 1, 2018, to avoid becoming ineligible in the middle of a sports season or having to get a new physical in the middle of a season, we recommend your student obtain a new physical that will be good for two full years.
If your student has already obtained a physical, you may email the form to Karen Moore at email@example.com, fax the form to 816-892-1452, or drop the form at the high school front office. (Note: If your student participated in the February Physical Night at Ray-Pec High School, that physical is on file and valid for the 2019-2020 school year.)
Middle School fall sports practices start Aug. 14. You may bring completed sports physicals for 7th and 8th grade students to registration on July 24 or July 30.
