Ray-Pec Foundation presents Partner in Education awards

Gala 2020 Pec Charitable Foundation 2

The Raymore-Peculiar Public School Foundation honored the Peculiar Charitable Foundation and Allison Scott as the 2020 recipients of the Partners in Education award. They were honored on Feb. 22 at the annual Gala and fundraiser to support Foundation projects, grants, and scholarships.

Honoree: Allison Scott

Allison Scott of Raymore has been a behavior interventionist for the school district since 2013 and is well-known for her expertise on brain development and behavior. In addition, she helps Ray-Pec staff learn and develop strategies to handle challenging student behaviors. Allison is a member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors and is the chairperson of Ray-Pec CARES.

Honoree: Peculiar Charitable Foundation

The Ray-Pec Foundation also honored the Peculiar Charitable Foundation with the 2020 Partner in Education Award. The Peculiar Charitable Foundation was founded in 1968 by Edward Schug, a life-long resident of Peculiar and Cass County. He wanted to give back to his community through an organization to benefit many local groups and individuals. Ed’s daughter, Mary Dobson, and her husband, Larry, became members of the Board of Directors in 1998, continuing the family’s tradition of community involvement. Other Directors are Scott and Rebecca Dobson, and Thomas Peter.

The Foundation has become a leading philanthropic entity in Cass County, providing funding for over 800 college scholarships, special school projects, food pantries, dental clinics, hospital events, and more.
