The District learned this afternoon that a high school employee tested positive for Covid-19 over the holiday weekend. The Cass County Health Department was contacted immediately to verify next steps and to discuss the status of Summer School at Ray-Pec High School.
As a precautionary measure, the start of middle and high school summer school will be delayed until Tuesday, July 7. On Monday, July 6, District staff will deep clean the building.
Athletic activities, including summer fitness, that take place exclusively outside the school building, will continue as planned. Students attending Summer School in grades K-5 will begin classes on Monday, July 6, as planned.
The Cass County Health Department is conducting the contact tracing related to this COVID-19 case. The employee and affected contacts will be required to follow health department guidelines for quarantine and testing before returning to work.
