The District learned on Monday, Oct. 5, that a student has tested positive for COVID-19. The case involves a student at Ray-Pec East Middle School. The Cass County Health Department and school district administrators have conducted contact tracing. Because the student stayed home when first experiencing symptoms and the school had followed distancing and other COVID-19 safety protocols, no other students or staff are required to quarantine related to this case.
The health and safety of our students and employees is a top priority. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to implement safety measures during the pandemic.
All families are urged to continue the practice of healthy behaviors, which include, but are not limited to:
Wearing face coverings and implementing physical distancing.
Staying home from school and work when you are sick.
Washing hands frequently with soap and water.
Avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth to prevent the spread of germs.
Cleaning and disinfecting frequently-touched surfaces and objects.
Avoiding close contact with people who are sick.
