Energy Management Program Review
Each year, an Energy Management Program report is presented to the Board of Education.
Energy Management
The Raymore-Peculiar School District adopted an Energy Management Program in 2006. The program was designed to keep all district buildings operating in the most efficient, yet cost-effective, way possible. The program aims to reduce energy waste, while providing a safe, healthy, and comfortable learning environment for students and staff.
In 2010 and 2014, Ray-Pec applied for and received Energy Star Awards for all school buildings and the Administrative Services Center. Ten of the buildings scored in the top 10 percent, which is an achievement very few schools nationwide have achieved.
The District continues to seek ways to maintain and improve its goal of 30 percent energy cost savings. This is done by monitoring usage and seeking upgrades to improve performance at each building. LED lighting has been incorporated in many buildings, along with rebates and improvements in all aspects of energy usage.
The success of this comprehensive program is achieved through the combined effort of the custodial and maintenance staff, teaching staff, and administration.
