Foundation Impact Grants Spring 2022

Foundation awards about $10,000 in grants

The Foundation Prize Patrol on March 1, 2022,  awarded $9,992 in grant awards.

The grant awards will be used for a variety of items including books, cooking supplies, recess equipment, and toys for fine motor skills.

Superintendent Dr. Mike Slagle, Foundation Executive Director Jodie Huston, Foundation Board President Allison, Bruflat, and Foundation Secretary/Treasurer Pam Steele made the surprise presentations, along with Foundation Board Members Cathy Wansing, Kristi Schumacher, and Jamie Bogner.

Cara Hornbeck, Special Education and Math Teacher at Ray-Pec High School, received a grant of $521 to purchase dry erase magnetic grid boards for algebra classes. Second graders in Melinda LaSala's class at Raymore Elementary are excited to learn that a grant will allow each of them a take-home copy of the book "Inch and Miles: The Journey to Success." The class has been studying the book by famed coach John Wooden and has incorporated its lessons into their classroom.

Grant to fund students projects in the LEAP program

Ray-Pec Elementary LEAP Teacher Rebecca Huber received a grant of $500 to purchase resources for projects proposed by students in the gifted education program. The students submitted several projects and will work collaboratively to choose how to spend the grant to fund as many projects as possible.
