RPA students had an opportunity to go on a schoolwide field trip to the KC Zoo. Students had a good time exploring the zoo and learning new things.

RPA students participated in Crash Labs last week. A big shout out to our experts who came out to share their skills:
~ Sam Johnson from KC Pix
~ Diego Sanchez from Bloodline Studios
~Jonathan Lee from Socksaddict417 and motivational speaker
~Elaine Moore who had the students do a No Bake Cookie Bake-off
It was fun to hear laughter fill the halls!

We kicked off the 2023-24 school year with a bang this morning! 💥 All Ray-Pec staff filled the high school gym for convocation and to celebrate the beginning of another wonderful school year.
"This morning, our celebration is all about the dreams of our students. Students are coming to us wanting to have a successful and meaningful life. That’s our mission. And that’s their dream. It is our job to make that dream possible. All of us, and I mean anyone in this room employed or in an elected leadership role of the Ray-Pec School District, has the duty to deliver on or support the mission of our school district. Everyone. Our theme for this year is that we are all 'Dreammakers.'"
At the end of the ceremony Superintendent, Dr. Mike Slagle, asked all staff who were committed to being "Dreammakers" for students to stand. What a scene. 🖤💛

RPA students focusing on the attribute of Courageous Innovator from the Ray-Pec Portrait of a Ray-Pec Grad had the great opportunity to go on a real-world learning experience to KingCade Arcade thanks to the owner, Darek Smith. Students learned about his story of how the businesses came to fruition and then they all got to play the arcade games. Our RPA family can't thank KingCade Arcade enough for this experience as students get ready to build their own arcade. Be looking for that at our RPA Showcase on May 11th.

Academy students participated in a Real-World learning experience with One More Scoop Co-Owner, Ian Allison, who was such a gracious host! We all learned so much about ice cream production and their business, as well as, how he and his partners took an interest and developed a company from it. We look forward to future opportunities to partner! Our students loved the ice cream! It was a delicious treat!
