Top students honored at Excellence In Education Banquet

The Raymore-Peculiar Sunrise Optimist Club on April 23 honored top students at Raymore-Peculiar High School during its 35th annual Excellence in Education Banquet.

The club honored the top 37 seniors, the top 20 juniors, and the top 13 sophomores in their respective classes. Emily Craig, 2009 Ray-Pec graduate and English Language Arts teacher at Ray-Pec High School, was the keynote speaker. Greetings were also shared by Dr. Mike Slagle, Superintendent of the Ray-Pec School District, and Keith Fattig, Optimist West Central Governor.

Also during the banquet, the Ray-Pec Sunrise Optimist Club honored four seniors who will receive scholarships from the club. Congratulations to Andrew Brokaw, Jillian Griffin, Ella Means, and Derek Nissen. 

Tom Circo, president of the Ray-Pec Sunrise Optimist Club, and Steven Miller, principal of Ray-Pec High School, presented the awards.
