Starting a Discussion

An online discussion should generate a similar exchange of thoughts and ideas to an in-person conversation. While the pace and form of that conversation is clearly different in an online discussion, the desired outcome should be very much the same.

🤔 3 Points to Ponder 🤯

  • Is my prompt open-ended to avoid simple or one word responses?

  • Have I clearly communicated a minimum number of replies to other students that are expected?

  • Am I devoting adequate time to engage in and further the conversation by replying to student responses?
