Stacy Johnson

Stacy Johnson will be the new principal at Ray-Pec South Middle School, effective in July. The Ray-Pec School Board approved the hiring on March 28.

Johnson is currently principal for the Virtual Instruction Program of Ray-Pec. She has held that position since 2020. She was the assistant principal at Ray-Pec East Middle School from 2017 to 2022. Before coming to Ray-Pec, from 2004 to 2017, Johnson was an assistant principal, an assistant principal intern, an instructional coach, and a teacher, all in the Hickman Mills School District.

Johnson said she is looking forward to the opportunity to lead South Middle School.

"I look forward to building relationships with students, families, and staff," she said. "It's a great day to be a Wolf!"

Dr. Al Voelker, Assistant Superintendent for Academic Services, said, "Mrs. Johnson is an experienced middle school level leader. We are fortunate that she desires to continue her leadership journey with us at Ray-Pec South Middle School. I am confident the SMS school community will welcome her supportive and steady leadership."

Johnson earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education/history from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She received her master's degree in curriculum and instruction and her education specialist degree in secondary administration from UMKC.

She will replace Dr. Randy Randolph, who is retiring at the end of the 2022-2023 school year.

Johnson is a 1999 graduate of Ray-Pec High School. She and her husband, Bill, live in Raymore. They have triplets -- Dean, Tristan, and Madison -- who currently attend Ray-Pec High School.
