The Raymore-Peculiar School District is proud to congratulate South Middle School Robotics Coach Kolby Arnold on being named Mentor of the Year at the WPI World Championships Invitational in Boston.

Arnold and Assistant Coach Sierra Arnold accompanied the SMS Robo Raptors to the prestigious international competition, where teams from 44 states and 19 countries gathered to showcase their innovation, teamwork, and engineering skills. Amid this elite field of competitors, Arnold was recognized for his outstanding leadership, dedication, and impact as a robotics mentor.

The Mentor of the Year award celebrates coaches who go above and beyond to inspire students, foster a love of STEM learning, and help young people develop the skills and confidence needed for future success. Arnold's commitment to his students and the robotics program has helped create meaningful learning opportunities while encouraging teamwork, problem-solving, and perseverance.

The district is incredibly proud of the Robo Raptors for representing South Middle School on the world stage and extends its congratulations to both coaches for their hard work and dedication. We are especially excited to celebrate Mr. Arnold's well-deserved recognition as Mentor of the Year.
