A group of students pose for a picture in a pantry

Thereโ€™s something powerful about watching students come together to help others. As part of Ray-Pecโ€™s CAN (Caring About Nutrition) program, these students rolled up their sleeves to pack weekend food bags for classmates who could use a little extra support.

What looks like simple sorting and packing is actually something much bigger: generosity in action. Each week, volunteers log donations, pull items for that weekโ€™s bags, and prepare deliveries for every school across the district. And when students step in to help, they arenโ€™t receiving the food โ€” theyโ€™re leading the charge, building real-world skills while lifting up their peers.

The CAN program, led by the Raymore-Peculiar Public School Foundation, is fueled by countless donors and volunteers who show up with time, food, and heart. Their work ensures Ray-Pec students head into each weekend with nourishment and care.

Choice Happens Here โ€” and this choice was kindness.
