Katie Huff, a special education teacher at Raymore-Peculiar's High School and LEAD Center, has been named a 2027 Missouri Regional Teacher of the Year, one of just 34 educators across the state selected for the honor.

The Regional Teacher of the Year program recognizes outstanding educators who demonstrate excellence in the classroom, a commitment to student success and leadership within their schools and communities.

As a Regional Teacher of the Year, Huff will now advance to the next stage of the selection process for Missouri Teacher of the Year by completing the state application.

"Katie embodies what we strive for in Ray-Pec," Superintendent Dr. Mike Slagle said. "She leads with genuine care, inspires students to do hard things and creates opportunities that help them discover their strengths. This recognition is well deserved, and we're excited to celebrate her and the difference she makes in the lives of students."

Huff will be recognized alongside the other Regional Teachers of the Year during a statewide celebration later this summer
