The Ray-Pec School District is seeking nominations for the 2024 Teacher of the Year and Support Staff Employee of the Year. The award finalists will be honored in the spring. Anyone may nominate a teacher by submitting a letter of nomination by Jan. 19. A candidate must: Be a full-time teacher, librarian, or counselor. Be returning to teach in 2024-25 in the District. Have completed 3 or more years teaching at Ray-Pec. Be effective and innovative in the classroom. For the Support Staff award, you may nominate a full-time or part-time employee who has worked at least one year for the District. The deadline is also Jan. 19. Examples of eligible employees include: accompanist, accounts payable, BOOST before and after school care, buildings and grounds, child nutrition, crossing guards, finance employees, lunch monitors, media assistants, nurses, paraprofessionals, payroll, safety and security, secretaries, teacher aides, and technology employees. The LEAD Center would like to invite the community, faculty, staff and students to their fall Student Showcase. The come and go event is Wednesday, December 6 from 4:30-6:30 at the LEAD Center. All students will be showcasing their experience.

The 8th Grade RPEMS Music Theatre Cast and Crew would like to invite you to attend our production of Matilda, Jr! Shows will be December 14th and 16th, 7:00 PM and December 17th at 2:00 PM. RP Sings, the Choirs of Ray-Pec, would like to invite all students, grades 5-12 to participate in our RP Select Day 2024. This is an amazing day where all can come together to sing. This event is hosted at Ray-Pec High School and is free of charge. We do ask that interested students register so that we make sure we have enough music and snacks! Ray-Pec Holiday Mart 🎅 You are invited to the Ray-Pec Holiday Mart from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 3 at Ray-Pec High School. More than 50 vendors will be selling a variety of merchandise. Chris Cakes will be serving from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Take photos with Santa Claus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is free. The event is sponsored by Ray-Pec Cheer.

RE students had their first classroom party of the school year last Friday, where they played games and enjoyed snacks. We would like to express our deep appreciation to all the parent volunteers who supported the event. Our amazing teachers also deserve recognition for their continued effort in fostering a sense of community within the classrooms.

THANK YOU, as always, to the amazing families and staff for making our school Trick-or-Treat Street such a huge success. RE ART SCHOOL AFTER SCHOOL...........RE Fourth and fifth-grade students could sign up to participate in a 6-week after-school art club called Art School After School. In this particular lesson, participants painted a still life of flowers. Students learned and applied various painting techniques including underpainting, blending, tints, and shades. This club has allowed these students to discover new materials and techniques through small group instruction they don't otherwise use in class and has been an incredibly fun and enlightening opportunity for everyone.
