Kindergarteners at Creekmoor Elementary celebrated the 100th Day of school by becoming "The 10x10 Construction Crew". They worked throughout the day on STEM activities related to construction and the number 100!

Shout out to our Special Olympics Basketball teams! In order to qualify for State, teams needed to earn gold or silver medals at the St. Joseph Regional Tournament on Saturday.

This amazing group of Sources of Strength Peer Leaders and Adult Advisors spent their day in Kansas on Tuesday meeting other KC Metro Sources of Strength clubs and shared fun ideas! They delivered a presentation on what Ray-Pec SoS is all about, played games, and took a ton of notes on how to make the mental wellness club even better! Congratulations to the Ray-Pec High School Scholar Bowl Team for placing second in the 2024 Roadrunner Scholastic Tournament Saturday, Jan. 20, in Sedalia. Ray-Pec's Alex Gawron was the individual player runner-up with 70 pts/game. Ray-Pec has earned a bid to the High School National Championship Tournament, scheduled over Memorial Day Weekend in Atlanta.
The Scholar Bowl Team Coach is Kelly Logan, assisted by Megan Walker.

Over the weekend the Boys' Basketball team won the consolation championship game at the Jenks-Union Invitational with a 58-37 victory over Glenpool. Cannon Northcraft was one of six players named to the All-Tournament team for his efforts! ๐

Congratulations to Helen Van Arkel on winning the Raymore-Peculiar School District Spelling Bee on Jan. 17. Twenty-seven spellers from the elementary and middle schools competed in the evening event at Eagle Glen Elementary School.
After 12 rounds of competition, Helen claimed the championship by spelling the word "attrition."
Ashleigh Parker was the runner-up. Both students are 8th graders at Ray-Pec East Middle School.
As the winner, Helen received a trophy and a Visa gift card from UMB. She also qualifies to represent the District in the Cass County Spelling Bee, scheduled for March 13. If Helen wins at the county level, she will be eligible to compete at the Scripps National Bee in Washington, D.C.
As runner-up, Ashleigh received a trophy and a Visa gift card from UMB. All other competitors received medallions in recognition of qualifying for the District bee.

We are sorry to share the news of a death in the Ray-Pec family. Longtime high school English teacher Ruth Bogart passed away on Jan. 10. Mrs. Bogart started teaching at Ray-Pec in 1980, and retired in 2005.

Congratulations to the Ray-Pec High School Students of the Month for January! Holden Kephart and Grace Bowen are being recognized by the Belton-Raymore Rotary Club. Hayden Scammacca and Jana Bruce are being honored by the Ray-Pec Sunrise Optimist Club.




We are sorry to inform you of another death in the Ray-Pec family. Jeffrey Cox, Cass County Associate Circuit Judge District 5, passed away on Jan. 5. Cox, a 1993 Ray-Pec graduate, served in many state, city and county positions including Raymore City Council and Cass County Presiding Commissioner. The family has suggested memorial contributions to benefit the Raymore-Peculiar Public School Foundation.

The 2024 Missouri Thespian Conference is now in the books! ๐ญ Ray-Pec performed Romeo and Juliet on the mainstage in front of hundreds of people inside the Folly Theater on Friday.
A special congratulations to Sav Jordan and Tre Hill for earning the Performance Scholarship at the conference this weekend!
